Resources: Great Book For Very Common Idioms - Essential Idioms

This book has been around for awhile now, but it is still a great resource for ESLers at any level.

It covers phrases used day-in-and-day-out that might not seem bewildering to a native speaker but can cause problems when ESL learners have to deal with colloquial speech: phrases like shut up, put up, pull up, push up, cough up, and so on.

The book is broken into lessons with some exercises and memorization quizzes.

It also has a very useful index showing the English idiom and its equivalent in French, Spanish, and German - which is great for people who have studied those languages too.
